Anna L. Armas is originally from Albuqurque, New Mexico. While a student at New Mexico Highlands University, Las Vegas, New Mexico, Anna was recognized on the Dean’s List and was Vice President of Chi Delta Theta Honor Society. She was elected Student Senator for the University for the 1993-1994 term. Anna obtained a Bachelor Degree in Political Science in 1994.
After graduation from New Mexico Highlands University, Anna worked at a Television station for a few months and then was hired as General Manager for a talk radio station (KDEF). While at KDEF, she was appointed Director of the Hispanic Culture Festival.
In January 1998, Anna entered law school at Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, California. While there, she was awarded the Trustee Scholarship for academic achievement. She also received the American Juris Prudence award in Torts and the California Juris Prudence award in Torts. Anna was President of La Raza Hispanic Law Student Association. She earned her Juris Doctorate in December 2000.
After law school, Anna became a Post Bar Clerk with San Diego Public Defender’s office from January 2001 – May 2001. Anna was admitted to the California and Colorado bars in 2001.
In October 2001, Anna began working as a Deputy Public Defender at the Denver Public Defender’s office. Her trials included homicide, sex assults, driving under the influence and domestic violence.
Anna joined Cooper, Tanis, Fuller & Cohen, P.C., as an associate attorney in July 2005.
In leisure time, Anna enjoys spending time with her family and running. She speaks a little Spanish, has coached co-ed tennis and enjoys reading Jane Austin novels.
